José Ferreira (born 1977), originally from Vila Nova de Famalicão, is a visual artist who lives and works in Esposende, after several years of professional activity in Lisbon. His artistic journey began early, at age 13, driven by family encouragement and a constant curiosity for drawing, painting, and visual construction.
Throughout his life, he has combined different professional areas with continuous dedication to the arts, developing works in drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic design, and web design. His practice is characterized by the absence of a single technique or fixed materials: José Ferreira prioritizes creative freedom, exploring diverse supports and experimental approaches that allow him to construct his own visual language.
His chromatic perception, marked by a deficiency in color blindness (30%), has become a distinctive element of his process. Unable to distinguish most secondary colors, he has developed visual and cognitive strategies that transform this limitation into an expressive advantage, resulting in works of strong graphic and sensory impact.
His work can be found in private collections, homes, and professional spaces of friends and clients who have followed his career since its early years.
